Section 144 Extended for Next Three Months in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh government has decided to keep all the restaurants, hotels and bars in the state closed till May 31 in view of Corona virus infection

The Government of Chhattisgarh has extended the term of Section 144 of the CRPC for the next three months in view of increasing cases of Corona virus in the state. Senior state officials said on Monday that Section 144 was implemented in several districts of the state to prevent the spread of corona virus infection. All the district collectors of the state have feared the spread of corona virus in the present situation.

Officials said that to prevent infection in the state, it has been decided to extend the prohibitory period (Section 144) to three months in all districts. At the same time, the Chhattisgarh government has decided to keep all the restaurants, hotels and bars in the state closed till May 31 in view of Corona virus infection.

In Chhattisgarh, 25 new cases of corona virus have been reported during the last 24 hours. The number of people infected with the virus has increased to 92 in the state, out of which 59 people have been discharged after treatment. At the same time, 33 patients are being treated. Recently, the state Health Minister TS Singhdev, had expressed the possibility of increasing the number of infected people in the state.

Singhdev had said that the return of migrants is a big challenge for the state government. A large number of migrant laborers from other states are returning here by train and other vehicles. Many of them are feared to be infected with the corona virus. The state government is doing everything possible to prevent infection here. The minister had said that about 1.25 lakh people have enrolled to return to the state, but about 3.50 lakh people are expected to return.
