SC: Asks Center and Delhi Government on a Petition to Send Terrorists to Tihar

The Supreme Court summoned the Center and the Delhi government on Friday on a petition seeking transfer of seven Pakistani terrorists from Jammu to Delhi's Tihar Jail. Justice L. Nageshwar Rao and Justice M.R. Shah's bench asked the central government and the Delhi government to respond by issuing a notice to the Jammu and Kashmir government's petition.

The state government has filed a petition seeking the permission of the court to transfer seven Pakistani terrorists lodged in Jammu's Jail to Tihar Jail in Delhi or to some more security jails in Punjab and Haryana. The advocate Shoaib Alam, appearing on behalf of the state government, argued that these terrorists should be shifted to different jails from different organizations because these terrorists are provoking local prisoners. The court said that he will hear the case. The bench also directed Mr. Alam to ensure that notices are issued to seven terrorists.
