Sources said that Covid-19 infection has been confirmed in a sweeper working in the Lok Sabha Secretariat, after which he was admitted to the hospital.

Upon investigation he was found to be infected with Covid-19. He said that he has been admitted to the special ward of Safdarjung Hospital. 11 members of his family have also been tested for corona virus and results are awaited. Sources said that his house in central Delhi has been sealed by the local authorities.

More than 125 families in the presidential estate area have moved to the Home Quarantine as a precaution after a scavenger at the Rashtrapati Bhavan was found to be Corona virus positive during the investigation.

Officials said on Tuesday that a relative of a scavenger living in the Presidential Estate area was hospitalized for treatment. This step was taken when the mother of the scavenger died in BL Kapoor Hospital a few days ago due to Covid-19 infection.

An official said his mother lived outside the presidential estates. After her positive report came in the investigation, all her relatives were sent to the segregation and investigated. The investigation report of relatives was found negative. He said that after the death of the scavenger's mother, about 25 families first moved to the home quarantine. Now about 100 more families have moved to Home Quarantine as a precautionary measure.
