As the ICC Cricket world cup, 2019 is all set to begin from today. This world cups’ anthem has already been released by Uber, which also has a tinge of India’s notes as the famous Indian rock-pop band Sanam has also lent their voices for the anthem. The band has collaborated with global artists to celebrate the unity in the new anthem titles, ‘way-O way-O.
Uber released this song in order to increase the enthusiasm of the fans and to cheer up their spirits for the ICC Men’s World Cup 2019, with a partnership with the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The anthem is perfect amalgamation of various cultures which has been written by Sonal Dabral and is composed, produced and curated by Michael(Mikey) McCleary.
Artistes such as SANAM, Jahmiel (Jamaica), Catherine Taylor Dawson (United Kingdom), Simba Diallo (New Zealand) and choir group Khayelitsha United Mambazo (South Africa), got together for this song.
Sanam Puri, the lead singer of the band SANAM commented on this news saying, “The anthem is truly a celebration of the sport. When Uber and Mikey McCleary first contacted me and told me everything about the anthem, it got me really excited and then I told the band about it,”
Showing their gratitude and enthusiasm the bass guitarist of the band added on saying, “A good dose of laughter is essential to build camaraderie on sets…we felt that this translated on the screen while working on the anthem. It was also a great experience for all of us artists, who came together and created a signature cheer, transcending geographical barriers.”
