Often this happens when the chapati is left in our homes they have to be thrown away, but there are some people who are filling their stomachs by making more chapati's. In Gujarat, people of more than 12 societies in Ahmedabad's Naranpura have decided to meet the hunger of the city's hungry people. About 2 to 3 chapatis come from each house regularly. In this way, these societies collect more than 4 thousand chapatis daily to a food bank. This bank distributes pulses and chapatis to about 600 people daily.

In October this year, on the occasion of Navratri, all the societies started this initiative together. Garba is organized every year on the occasion of Navratri. This year an elderly man approached the people and asked if all the societies could together prepare the loaves for their trust. People thought about this and agreed to send about 300 chapatis daily.

Sonia Modi, who lives in Shubhalakshmi Tower, says, "When we came to know about this initiative, we were immediately ready for it." In the common area of the society, people keep the loaves before 1 pm every day. Every society receives around 500 chapatis daily.

Dilip, who runs the Leela Ba Trust, initiated the initiative. The Trust visits different places daily between 3 and 6 in the evening and feeds Gujarati pulses and chapati to the needy. Dilip explains, 'We get 600 people every day. It is easy to make lentils but it takes a lot of people to make chapatis. I thought that one or two loaves become more in everyone's place. Why don't we use it to feed poor people. I went to the people and told about the work of my trust.

He says that today he visits every society daily. They are given utensils to keep the loaves. Apart from this, tiffin service is provided to about 50 senior citizens. Dilip says that anyone who is weak in cooking and lives within a 20 km radius of their area can tell them about it. This tiffin service is also given absolutely free.
