A few days after the recent deal between Reliance Industries Limited's Jio Platform and Facebook, RIL has also started testing its online shopping portal. Jio mart is an e-commerce venture of Reliance Retail. Under Facebook's agreement with the Jio platform, jio mart has started offering its services through Facebook-owned WhatsApp. Jio mart has currently started services at three locations near Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan and Thane.
Customers must first save the number above to order online. After saving the number, a link will come from this number on the customer's WhatsApp, which will be for a duration of 30 minutes. The customer has to submit some of his information by clicking on this link. After this, customers will be able to order from the list of items sent by Jio Mart. Now the customer's order will be sent to the nearby grocery store or jio mart store. The customer will also get information about order preparation through WhatsApp.
RIL is planning to launch this jiobmart service across the country. Significantly, under the agreement, Facebook is buying 9.9 percent stake in Jio Platforms. It will invest Rs 43,574 crore in Jio platforms. After this agreement between the two companies, the market valuation of Reliance Industries Ltd. was increased by Rs 45,527.62 crore to Rs 8,29,084.62 crore.
In these places, jio mart has released a WhatsApp number to start its services through WhatsApp. This number is 8850008000. The three customers on which jio mart has started its services, the customers of this place can communicate on this number and can order for the groceries online at home. However, at this early stage, jio mart has not started the home delivery service. Now customers have to go to the store to take their order.
