Mumbai: Bollywood actress Richa Chadha is also an animal lover, we all know this, but when she came to know that some people are giving up pets over the fear of Covid-19, she got angry. She said that as there are strict measures to adopt a child, so should the case of pets. Richa, who promotes 'Adopt and Not Shop' for pets, has herself grown cats at home. She told IANS, "This is really silly. If someone in your family gets Covid-19, would you throw them out? I think when someone wants to take an animal home, there should be a basic assessment of mental state. Just like when you want to adopt a child, you have to follow a lot of rules, the same should happen with the animal".
The actress often expresses concern for stray animals on social media, not believing that people are abandoning pets just because of the Covid-19 epidemic.
She said, "Who leaves animals like that? It's not about being an animal lover, but the humanity here. It's time to teach us to live in harmony with each other. This planet is just not for humans, but for everyone. Right now, the whole world has stopped because of a microbe. Nature does not need us, we need nature. We are a part of it".
