In Kashmir, as the number of infections has increased in the last few days, the restrictions are being tightened so that the outbreak of the virus can be controlled. Officials said on Tuesday that the ban on movement and gathering of people in the valley has reached its 41st day.
Officials said that the security forces have blocked the main routes of most places and put up barricades at various places. The administration said that only those involved in essential services, including doctors, have been exempted from the ban. Apart from this, only valid pass holders will be allowed to move.
Officials said that the Valley's over-infection or 'Red Zone' has been closed so that the standard system can be followed. He said that markets in the valley were closed and public transport was off the roads. Only vehicles loaded with essential goods or medicines are allowed to travel.
The total number of people infected in Jammu and Kashmir is 546. So far seven patients have died and 164 have recovered. In addition, more than 66,000 people have been excluded.
