Actress Ratna Pathak told in an interview that how they met while talking about her relationship with Naseeruddin. Along with this, she also talked about her marriage. Ratna and Naseeruddin have been married for more than 40 years. Together they make a strong bond. Ratna's humour could be seen when she was asked what attracts her in Naseeruddin, to which she replied that it is completely a lottery, I am just lucky.
Talking in detail about their marriage, Ratna said, "We had a wonderful wedding. Our wedding was one of the few weddings that I attended, where both the bride and groom had fun. We had a party. We went to the beach, drank wine, and had a great time. There were no rituals and no wailing at our wedding. I remember when I left my mother's house, we all parted together were singing songs. Naseer and I were singing a lot of Bidaai songs too. So, of course, I wish the same for my kids, but they are not showing any signs of marriage."
The talk is of 1975 when Ratna was a college student and Naseeruddin was graduating from FTII. He acted for the first time in the play 'Sambhog Se Sanyas Tak', directed by Satyadev Dubey. They met for the first time during the rehearsals of this play. Shortly after, the two started dating and got married in 1982 after being in a relationship for seven years.
Talking about their first meeting, Ratna said in an interview, "It was not love at first sight. When Dubey introduced us to each other, I did not even know his exact name. On the first day we were friends. Neither were there, but from the very next day we started walking together."
