Bangarmau MLA has also imposed a fine of Rs 25 lakh by the Tis Hazari court of Delhi. 3 accused MPs, 6 MLAs in 2019

76 MPs and MLAs accused in women's crimes

A total of 76 public representatives, including 18 MPs and 58 MLAs, are facing charges in the case of crime against women. According to the report of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), during the last 10 years (2010-2019) MPs have seen an increase of 850 percent in the number of cases of female crime reported. Along with this, during the Lok Sabha elections, the number of candidates accused in crimes against women was increased by 231 percent.
