The ashes of the late actor Rishi Kapoor were immersed in Banganga Pond in Mumbai on Sunday. His brother Randhir Kapoor told PTI that a prayer meeting was held at home on Saturday. After this, the ashes were immersed in Banganga on Sunday. The family did not get permission from the authorities to go to Haridwar.
Many photos and videos are going viral on social media, in which Rishi Kapoor's son Ranbir Kapoor, the late actor's wife Neetu Kapoor and daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni are seen performing the last rites at Banganga Pond here.
Actress Alia Bhatt and filmmaker Ayan Mukherjee were also present on the occasion along with the Kapoor family.
On its first day, a prayer meeting was held at Kapoor's residence.
Rishi Kapoor died in a hospital in Mumbai on 30 April. He was 67 years old and battling cancer.
