Rajasthan’s Governor Kalraj Mishra Expressed his Views on CAA Protests

Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra says that violence on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is like demolishing democracy. He said that the Central Government has enacted a law by passing a bill in Parliament. After enactment of the law, it is the responsibility of the state government to implement it. If there is any difficulty on a subject, the state government can talk to the central government. Solution comes out of the conversation. He said that states do not have autonomy in our constitution. If any political party or organization has objections, then talk to the central government, if you want to protest, then it should also be in a peaceful manner. But stone pelting in the name of protest is not right.

On the question of referendum by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the Citizenship Amendment Act, Kalraj Mishra said that there is no justification for such a thing. Speaking to the media at Raj Bhavan on Friday, Governor Mishra informed about his 100-day tenure. He said that as Governor he considers his statutory duty and working closely with the government. In response to a question asked about the central government not giving funds to the state, he said that the state government should talk to the central about this. Along with this, attention should also be paid to increase revenue at our own level.

Kalraj Mishra said that keeping in mind the dignity of the post of Governor, he played special role for tribal development and paid special attention to tribal welfare. He said that he himself has come among the tribals. He informed that the appointment of Vice Chancellors in Universities will be done as per UGC rules. Work is being done to make universities smart.
