Rajasthan’s Debtors Are the Governments of Many States

The central government and the governments of many states are the debtors of Rajasthan. However the amount is not very much. About twelve and a half crore rupees of Rajasthan are owed to these governments. Out of this, some amount has been outstanding since 2005 and the amount of half that is around six crores is with the central government. However, the payment process has started and there is a possibility of getting the money soon.

Actually, this amount is related to the expenditure on security forces. The security forces of various states are used for security arrangements in the Lok Sabha elections and state assembly elections in the country and these security forces are sent to these states, because in any state, adequate security forces for the major work related to elections. does not happen. In such a situation, security forces companies have to be invited from other states. In this, in the assembly elections, the state invites the security force at its level, while in the Lok Sabha elections, instructions are issued to send the security force from the Home Ministry level. Instead of sending security forces to other states, the expenditure is recharged to that state.

From Rajasthan,  Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka and the Central Government are running this amount outstanding. Out of this, Uttar Pradesh owes two crore 88 lakh 11 thousand rupees and this amount is from 2007 to 2012. Similarly, Punjab owes Rs 1 crore 10 lakh from 2005 to 2012. At the same time, the Kerala government owes Rs 83.22 lakh from the year 2016, while the Jammu and Kashmir government owes Rs 68.41 lakh from the year 2014-15. 53 .92 lakhs is owed to the Government of Karnataka since 2008 and 2013. Apart from these, the central government owes more than six and a half crores. However, according to a recent letter to the state, the process of its payment has started.

Letters have been written several times on behalf of the Government of Rajasthan to demand the recoupment of salary and allowances of Home Guards on the states. This trend has been going on since the time of Gulabchand Kataria, who was the Home Minister in the previous BJP government. Despite this, payments are not being made by the state governments. Now again, a letter is being sent to these governments asking for funds.
