Jaipur: Rajasthan University (RU) council meeting was held on Friday where many important and necessary decisions were taken by council members. It was decided in the meeting that the syllabus of graduate and Undergraduate courses be reduced by 50% as classes were not regular during the pandemic.

Rajasthan University (RU) is trying to implement the next session by July or August to cover the time gap caused due to the pandemic last year. Therefore, the subjects whose examinations were held in two parts on separate days now will be wrapped up on a single day.

Every year, the final examination was extended for two and a half months but now it will be completed within a month. Moreover, the university has decided to implement the syllabus following the guidelines of the new Education Policy from the next session. All the departments have been structured to start preparing.

Rajasthan University’s Important Decision in Academic Council

"Another important decision was to approve the list of the subject experts. For every subject, experts are decided that has to be passed by the academic council and then by a syndicate. After this, a list of experts was sent to RPSC. The experts will preside over all university recruiting processes," stated an academic council member.

It is the most significant meeting at the institution, and it has been postponed for a long period owing to the epidemic. The topic of implementing the UGC regulation of 2018 that established seniority and appointment requirements in higher education has been postponed until the next meeting.

Although Rajasthan Institution has approved the laws, an ordinance must be enacted in order for them to be implemented at the university, which will be discussed at the next meeting. The council's next meeting has been scheduled for a week later, when the remaining matters will be resolved.
