Jodhpur Violence: Today i.e. on Wednesday, the situation is under control after the violence in Jodhpur on the occasion of Eid. So far 13 FIRs have been registered and 100 people were arrested in the clashes between the two communities on Monday and Tuesday.

Police claim that the situation is now under control after two days of tension. Meanwhile, curfew continues on Wednesday as well. At present, mobile internet services are suspended in the Jodhpur district.

Jodhpur Violence: Curfew orders are in place till midnight of 4 May

In view of the disturbance that took place for two days, curfew was imposed in ten police station areas of the city i.e. Uday Mandir, Sadar Kotwali, Sadar Bazar, Nagori Gate, Khanda Falsa, Pratap Nagar, Pratap Nagar Sadar, Dev Nagar, Soorsagar and Sardarpura on Tuesday (May 3) at 1 pm.

The curfew orders are in place till midnight of 4 May. Meanwhile, Jodhpur Police Commissioner Navjyoti Gogoi has said that the situation is under control. Sufficient force has been deployed in the city. I appeal to the people to maintain peace. Till now FIR has been registered against 13 people and we have arrested more than 100 people.

Jodhpur Violence: Dispute started on Monday at midnight

The dispute started in the Chief Minister's home town Jodhpur on Monday at midnight. When some people from the minority community put up a religious flag at a crossroads near Jalori Gate. Seeing the Islamic flag, people from other communities also reached the crossroads. He claimed that the Islamic flag was installed on the statue of freedom fighter Balmukund Bissa installed at the crossroads.

This was done by removing the saffron flag installed there on the occasion of Parashuram Jayanti. The people of both the communities came face to face regarding this and then the clash started. The police fired tear gas shells and also resorted to the lathi charge to stop the mob.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Minister of State for Home Rajendra Singh Yadav, Additional Chief Secretary Abhay Kumar and Additional Director General of Police Hawa Singh Ghumaria have reached Jodhpur on Tuesday.

But the Bharatiya Janata Party is raising questions about Chief Minister Gehlot not reaching the spot. On Tuesday, BJP state president Satish Poonia said that the state government should take strict action against the chaotic elements and establish a rule of law in the state.
