Fertiliser Scam: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) started raids on Friday at the Jodhpur residence of Agrasen Gehlot, brother of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

The Central Investigation Agency is probing the potash scam case and raids are being conducted in this connection. However, the CBI had searched Ashok Gehlot's house even before this.

Ashok Gehlot's brother Agrasen Gehlot is alleged to have taken subsidies between 2007 and 2009 to distribute potash needed to farmers to make chemical fertilizers.

The allegation against him is that by making fertilizer from potash taken on subsidy, he has earned profit by selling it to private companies. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had also issued a summons in this case.

According to media reports, the CBI team raided the residence of Agrasen Gehlot, elder brother of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, on Friday morning.

The team is continuing to scrutinize the documents. Along with this, the interrogation of Agrasen Gehlot and his family is going on.

It is being told that the team of Delhi and Jodhpur is investigating together. In addition, the CBI is alsoinvestigating the fertilizer seed shop located in Pawta. Along with scrutinizing the documents, the accounts are also being scrutinized.

Fertiliser Scam: Customs department imposed fine

Even before this, raids were conducted on Agrasen Gehlot by the ED. He was interrogated in Delhi. Agrasen Gehlot's company was also hit with a penalty of Rs 5.46 crore by the customs department.

The High Court had stayed Agrasen's arrest in the ED-related matter after hearing his plea. This matter is now being investigated by the CBI.
