Rajasthan has demanded a share of 50 per cent in central taxes from the 15th Finance Commission, which visited Rajasthan. In a meeting with the Rajasthan government, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has given the state for the development of drinking water and irrigation, education, health, roads, energy, information technology and tourism in view of the heterogeneous geographical and social condition of the state, limited resources and future needs. Additional resources are requested to be allocated.

Gehlot said that states' share in central taxes should be increased from 42 percent to 50 percent. He said that states should also get a share in the cess and surcharge imposed by the central government. The Chief Minister said that in terms of area, due to the country's largest state and dispersed population, the cost per unit in service delivery to the common people in Rajasthan is much higher than other states, in view of this special commission of Rajasthan while transferring resources Take care of the situation.

The Chief Minister said that due to lack of prescribed increase in revenue from GST, the Center should pay compensation to the states for the deficit by 2024-25, for which the Finance Commission should recommend to the Central Government.

The Chief Minister said that after the end of the Planning Commission, the Finance Commission is the only ray of hope for the states in terms of financial resources. Gehlot said that the transfer of excess funds to the states keeping in mind the mandatory expenditure being incurred by the states for implementation of central laws like Forest Protection Act, Environment Protection Act, Food Safety and Standards Act, National Food Security Act, GST Act should be done.
