Rajasthan Government to Buy Electric Buses Soon

With the increasing pollution in Delhi and NCR, Rajasthan government is planning to run Electric Buses between Jaipur and Delhi. Currently Electric Buses are running only in three states. Rajasthan will be the 4th state in this list. Gehlot government is planning to buy super luxury buses to get rid of air pollution. The State Transport Corporation has sought permission from the Chief Minister to operate one and a half dozen electric buses between Jaipur and Delhi. The procurement of buses will start as soon as the budget is allocated from the government. Negotiations of roadways officials with the company supplying electric buses have been completed.

According to sources, the Transport Corporation wants to operate a total of 65 electric buses between Jaipur to Delhi and Jaipur to Agra. Under this, one and a half dozen buses will be operated between Jaipur and Delhi in the first phase. A budget of 100 crores has been demanded from the government for the purchase of 65 buses. The electric bus will have two batteries. Once the battery is fully charged, the bus will travel 200 kilometers. State Transport Minister Pratap Singh Khachariwas said that the process of purchasing electric buses is going on. The operation of these buses will reduce pollution and will also increase the income of the Transport Corporation. On Wednesday, the Transport Corporation and Finance Department officials met with representatives of the company supplying electric buses to purchase these buses. After the successful operation of these buses between Jaipur to Delhi, electric buses will be run between Jaipur to Agra in the next phase.

Currently, Electric Buses are running in Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi.  Rajasthan will be the fourth state in this list. Transport minister said that by buying these buses will not only reduce the pollution but diesel will also saved. The maintenance charges of these buses are low too. Delhi NCR was suffering from severe pollution issues last days.
