Rajasthan: Create Micro Containment Zone to Prevent Infection with Delta Plus Variant

Contact tracing of people who came in contact with infected woman in Bikaner, sent samples of three members to Pune.

The government has become alert after a new variant Delta Plus infection of corona surfaced in a 65-year-old woman two days ago in Bangla Nagar of Bikaner city of the state. To prevent Delta Plus infection, contact tracing of people who came in contact with the infected woman in the last 10 to 15 days is being done. Apart from this, a micro-containment zone has been made within a radius of 500 meters from the house of the infected woman. so that the infection does not spread.

Samples of three members sent to Virology Lab in Pune

According to Medical Minister Dr. Raghu Sharma, the infected woman living in Bangla Nagar of Bikaner has also recovered. His report has come negative. But the government is taking precautions. Samples of eight contacts, including the family of the woman who recovered from the infection, were taken.

Whose second report has also come negative? The Delta Plus variant infection was confirmed in the woman on Friday after coming to Corona positive on 31 May. There were three other members in the family at that time. The old samples of these three family members have been taken out from the medical lab in Bikaner and sent to the virology lab located in Pune.

15 teams of the medical department are doing screening in the area

According to Deputy CMHO Dr. Ramesh Gupta, 15 teams of the medical department under the leadership of epidemiologist Neelam Pratap Singh are conducting survey screening in the entire area around Bangla Nagar. On the first day, 2163 members of 406 households were screened. Of these, 390 are over 60 years old. Of those who were screened, 20 were found to have such diseases as BP, sugar, cancer.

Infection with Delta Plus in 11 states of the country

Medical Minister Sharma said that according to the data released by the Government of India, 48 patients have been found infected with Delta Plus in 11 states of the country. Genome sequencing is being done in 10 places in the country. The work of genome sequencing has started at SMS Medical College, Rajasthan. Samples are being tested. This will help to know which is the new variant. According to the variant, treatment protocol fixed treatment can be started.
