The team of the Department of Telecom has raided several places in Delhi. The raid was carried out to capture the repeaters being used illegally.

The DoT raided the various areas of Delhi on Wednesday. Mobile Signal repeaters were being used illegally in these areas. Wireless Monitoring Organization, teams of DoT (DOT) have raided these places with the help of mobile operators. Illegal repeaters in Delhi are becoming a major problem.

The main reasons for the network problems such as call drop and slow data speed are due to these illegal repeaters. On Wednesday, the team of Lt. Col., Paharganj, Greater Kailash, Indrapuri, Adarsh ​​Nagar, Model Town, Patel Nagar, South Extension, Chandni Chowk, Rohini, Sant Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, Rajouri Garden, Civil Lines, Ashok Vihar, Rajendra Raids in both residential and commercial places of the city.

NCR areas, i.e. Gururgram and Noida are also included in identified locations. Raids were also carried out in Karol Bagh, where such illegal instruments are being sold. Through this campaign in Delhi, 32 illegal repeaters were removed and while 46 repeaters were notified for immediate removal. Heavy fines can also be imposed on the owners of many premises. Let us te that these repeaters are installed by people, at home, office, PG and guest house to boost mobile signals. So that they can get a better network and internet speed. Doing so is completely illegal. Mobile networks are affected due to this device.

Mobile operators are facing this challenge and they have demanded to take action on these installations. The Department of Telecom has also decided to impose a fine on those who sell these illegal equipment. Recently, at the request of COAI, many e-commerce companies have discontinued the sale of such illegal network boosters on their platforms.
