Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Navjot Singh Sidhu and Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh have agreed on a concerted effort to ensure better coordination between the state government and the ruling party and to expedite the implementation of various government programs.

The two leaders agreed to constitute a 10-member 'Strategic Policy Group'. The decision was taken on Friday morning when Sidhu along with Kuljit Nagra and Pargat Singh met the chief minister to discuss issues related to Punjab and steps to strengthen the synergy between the party-government.

This group was constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Navjot Sidhu, four working presidents of the party Kuljit Singh Nagra, Sukhwinder Singh Dani, Pargat Singh, Sangat Singh Gilzian, and Pawan Goyal, besides Local Bodies Minister Brahm Mohindra, Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal and Social Security Minister. Aruna Chaudhary has been made a member. Also, this group will hold weekly meetings if required in consultation with other ministers, experts, etc. However, before this, the group will discuss and review the progress of various steps of the state government and suggest ways to expedite them.

In another decision, the Captain also entrusted his cabinet colleagues to hold meetings with MLAs and other party functionaries on a daily basis at the Punjab Congress Bhawan to discuss issues related to their constituencies and to discuss any grievances. can be resolved.

One minister each will be available at Congress Bhawan for 3 hours (11 am to 2 pm) from Monday. Also, the Chief Minister said that this arrangement would be done five days a week from Monday to Friday. He said this would help in better coordination between his government and the office bearers of the party for the 2022 assembly elections.
