A day after all parties supported the government in an all-party meeting called on the India-China deadlock, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Saturday urged the Center to allow troops to open fire in self-defense and national integrity along the border. The policy should be changed. The CM clarified that he did not support sending troops without arms to the LAC. He said in the seventh edition of his Facebook Live that the policy of the government should be that if they kill one of our side, we will kill 5 people of their side.

4 MARTYRS FROM PUNJAB

He said that sending soldiers unarmed or allowing them to defend themselves like that is completely wrong. He further stated that when he and his military colleagues were patrolling LAC during their 2-year posting, they were equipped with all kinds of weapons. Amarinder said, "We are in the nuclear age and we are carrying poles and being beaten with poles." He expressed surprise that 20 Indian soldiers were killed by the beating and stone pelting by Chinese soldiers, on which one cannot believed, whereas among them there were 4 soldiers from Punjab also.

CM TALKED TO THE FAMILIES OF 2 MARTYRS

Amarinder expressed anger over the killing of 4 soldiers from Punjab in the Galvan Valley, saying that this is extremely unfortunate, even as a military worker, we are always ready to take bullets. He said that apart from increasing the compensation amount for the families of the martyrs from Rs 12 lakh to Rs 50 lakh, his government has decided to rename the schools in the name of the martyrs. It should be noted that the CM said that so far he has spoken to the families of two martyrs.
