Punjab: 162 New Cases of Coronavirus Reported, 4 Died of Infection

3,047 people have become infection free so far, while there are 1,245 patients undergoing treatment in the state

On Tuesday, 4 more people died due to coronavirus infection in Punjab and with this, the number of people who lost their lives due to this deadly virus has increased to 105 in the state. According to a bulletin issued by the Department of Health, the total number of infected people in the state has increased to 4,397 in the last 24 hours on Tuesday with 162 more people confirmed to be infected with the corona virus. According to the bulletin, 2 people died in Ludhiana while one-one person lost their lives due to infection in Amritsar and Patiala.

MOST OF THE NEW CASES FROM JALANDHAR

The Health Department said that the maximum number of 38 new cases have been reported in Jalandhar. Apart from this, 34 in Ludhiana, 18 in Sangrur, 12 in Patiala, 11 in Bathinda, 10 in Fatehgarh Sahib, 9 in Moga, 7 in Amritsar, 4-4 in Ferozepur-Gurdaspur-Kapurthala, 3-3 in Mansa-Barnala, 2 in Rupnagar and one-one cases have been reported in Faridkot-Taran Taran-Hoshiarpur. On Tuesday, 20 of the people who have been confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus have returned from other states, the bulletin stated.

3047 PEOPLE CURED SO FAR

According to the Health Department, 222 people were discharged from the hospital after becoming infection-free during this period and thus, 3,047 people have become infection free so far, while there are 1,245 patients undergoing treatment in the state. The Health Department said that Amritsar remains on top in terms of total number of infected people and so far 792 people have been confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus. Apart from this, 602 cases have been reported in Jalandhar, 615 in Ludhiana, 239 in Sangrur, 226 in Patiala, 219 in Mohali, 195 in Gurdaspur and 188 in Pathankot.

9 INFECTED PEOPLE ARE IN CRITICAL CONDITION

At the same time, 186 in Taran-Taran, 165 in Hoshiarpur, 125 in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, 100 in Fatehgarh Sahib, 99 in Faridkot, 91 in Rupnagar, 85 in Moga, 84 in Muktsar, 79 in Bathinda, 77 in Ferozpur, Fazilka 75 cases were reported in Kapurthala, 67 in Barnala and 42 in Mansa. According to the bulletin, the condition of 9 infected people is critical and they are kept on ventilator while 19 patients are on oxygen. According to the Health Department, 2,55,380 samples have been tested in Punjab so far.
