In Pune, Maharashtra, a 17-year-old boy was killed by his own friend after allegedly kidnapping him for a ransom of Rs 40 lakh. The police officer gave this information on Sunday. Police said that during interrogation it was found that the accused plotted ransom and murder after watching a film.

Police say the body of a teenager named Abdullah Siddiqui was found on Sunday at the Savitribai Phule University campus in Pune. He Hails from a junk businessman family in Pimpri Chinchwad area of Pune. Accused Omar Nasir Sheikh told the police that he planned to kidnap his friend for money after watching a film titled Dangerous Player-2.

A senior officer of Bhosari police station said that accused Omar Nasir Sheikh (20) has been arrested for kidnapping and murder. "Sheikh took Pimpri to Dapodi area of Chinchwad on Saturday evening on the pretext of taking his friend Siddiqui to the party," the official said. After walking, he took him to the university campus where he allegedly strangled him to death. The accused called another friend of Siddiqui using Siddiqui's mobile phone. He asked the friend to inform Siddiqui's elder brother about Siddiqui's kidnapping.

Police says, "When Siddiqui's brother called, Shaikh demanded Rs 40 lakh from him. The family then contacted the police. The police took action after recognizing Sheikh's voice in the call recording. The police officer said that Sheikh was detained for questioning. During interrogation, he revealed where he hid Siddiqui's body.
