Proposal Against Citizenship Amendment Law Passed in Rajasthan

The Rajasthan government on Saturday passed a resolution against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in the Assembly. After Kerala and Punjab, Rajasthan has now become the third state to pass a resolution against the CAA.

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has opposed the proposal. He said that it is like killing democracy. Legislatures are going beyond the limited autonomy given by the Constitution by passing these resolutions. It is a conspiracy to divide the country and will not be accepted at all.

In Rajasthan, the budget session of the assembly has started on Friday i.e. January 24. The motion against the CAA was passed on the second day of the session. The state cabinet had already approved this proposal. At the same time, there was a discussion in the Legislative Assembly before the resolution was passed today, in which BJP opposed this proposal.

When the motion was tabled in the House on Saturday on the second day of the assembly session, the opposition fiercely protested. BJP members walked in the Well and raised slogans in support of the CAA. Earlier, the 126th amendment resolution to increase SC-ST reservation was passed.

During the debate in the assembly, BJP state president Satish Poonia said that when Parliament has passed this law (CAA) then why are you not implementing it. He further said that you will have to implement this law. No power of the world can stop it.
