Private Companies Issued Notice – Data of two SC-ST Personnel in 24 hours

The is seeking information from private companies as to how many employees belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) category are in their establishment. An e-mail is being sent by the Regional Provident Fund (PF) offices to the private firm of Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai for information and has been asked to give all the information within 24 hours of receiving the mail.

It is worth noting that many organizations have been demanding reservation in private companies, in such a situation, speculation is being raised again that why the government wants such information.

An HR consultant has confirmed to our associate publication Business Today that many companies in Delhi and Chennai have received such emails from the PF office. However, the consultant said that his clients from Mumbai and Pune have spoken of not receiving any such mail. But the founder of an HR consultancy based in Delhi said that apart from Bengaluru and Chennai, his clients based in Delhi have also received such emails.

This notification is not related to any one sector or industry, but it has been sent to all the companies falling under any regional PF office.

Information has been sought from this mail to state the name of the establishment, the total number of employees, the number of SC employees and the number of ST employees. It is written in the subject of the e-mail – 'Furnishing of details of SC / ST employees' Employment in your establishment-most incident. That is, presenting details of SC / ST employees appointed in your establishment – extremely important. Business Today has a copy of this email. Not only this, companies receiving email have been asked to give details in just one day i.e. within 24 hours.

This combination has also made it difficult for companies, because most private companies do not have caste-based data of employees. An HR head said, "This is the initial thing right now, most companies have replied in the mail that they do not collect such data and they need time to give this information."

The HR head of a grocery firm said that they have not received any such match, but now they will get full details of the employees in their recruitment form itself.
