The new building of the Supreme Court, completed in seven years, Built in twelve acres, is not only the largest building constructed by CPWD, but Demolition West is also the most used in this. In this building, the court will have administrative work, record and registry, but the courts will remain in the old building. President Ramnath Kovind inaugurated this new building connected with the old building with three underground roads on July 17.

The Supreme Court began on 28 January 1950. Initially, the functioning of the Supreme Court was in some part of Parliament House. In 1958, the Supreme Court had its own building which is situated on Lord Das Road. A new building has been built for its expansion.

The building's work began in 2012, which is completed seven years later in 2019. Initially, the work was entrusted to a private company, but he could not work and after three years the work was given to CPWD. This building has a three-tier car parking, with 1800 cars standing.

An official observing the construction of the building says that the biggest challenge in making this was to stop the pressure of ground water. Being near the river Yamuna, the water is below two and a half meters, while the three-storeyed parking has been constructed below 16 meters. Here, special hydrocarbon anchors have been installed to prevent water pressure so that the building remains stable and strong.

There is a Rain Harvesting System in this building, but there is already plenty of water under the ground so the water can not be recharged under the ground, hence there are three tankers of one lakh liters capacity of rain harvesting in which rain water will be collected. And it will be used again.

There are three gates of the building. This building has also been fined with red sand stone matching the old building of the Supreme Court. There is a provision of fresh air in the event of a fire, so that if there is ever an accidental fire, then no one suffers from knee injury, as in most cases.

The building will have 40 percent electricity from solar. The Zero Percent Sewer Municipal Discharge will be in the building. Here the STP is located inside the building which will sewer and its water will be used in AC coolant system and flush. The construction of the building has cost Rs 883 crores.

In the new building there is a block of lawyers 'chambers, where there are 500 lawyers' chambers. There are three underground ways to go from the old to the new building, one of which is for judges, one to take the second Supreme Court records and the third way is to come to the lawyers.

There was no auditorium in the Supreme Court so far this building has a multipurpose hall of auditorium with capacity of 620 seats and 230 seats. Apart from this, there are big conference halls too. Apart from the Supreme Court Legal Services, Mediation Center, apart from the National Legal Service Administration office, The functioning of the filing of the lawsuits, the court record will also be transferred to this building. There is a canteen here too.
