A young man from Chennai has made a big claim regarding Chandrayaan 2 sent to the Moon on 22 July 2019 by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). He says that Pragyan Rover sent to the moon by Chandrayaan-2 is perfectly fine. He also claims that this rover has also done a few meters walk after a soft landing on the lunar surface. This young man named Shanmuga Subramaniam has made this claim with an analysis of the pictures released by the US space agency NASA. Subramaniam is technically proficient.
ISRO launched the ambitious mission Chandrayaan-2 on 22 July 2019. Under this mission, Pragyan Rover and Vikram Lander were sent to the lunar surface. But at the time of soft landing, ISRO lost contact with them. Subramaniam had earlier claimed to have found the debris of Vikram Lander through NASA photographs. This time he is claiming to have found Pragyan Rover.
Shanmuga Subramaniam’s Claims
Subramaniam posted a series of tweets about this on his Twitter account. In those posts, he claims, “Chandrayaan-2’s Pragyan “ROVER” intact on Moon’s surface and has rolled out few meters from the skeleton Vikram lander whose payloads got disintegrated due to rough landing. It seems the commands were sent to the lander blindly for days and there is a distinct possibility that the lander could have received commands and relayed it to the rover…but the lander was not able to communicate it back to the Earth.”
South Pole region is not always well lit and the lander was in a shallow depth of 2 ms from the surface so it was not visible in Nov 11th's NASA flyby due to different angle of incidence & would be difficult for anyone to find it unless the sun is directly above the surface(3/4) pic.twitter.com/hCNvn2c6DH

ISRO’s response to this claim
ISRO said that they have received information from the Chennai-based techie and we are analyzing the claims. Chief of ISRO, K Sivan told TOI: “We’ve heard nothing from Nasa so far on the matter. But yes, the person who had identified Vikram debris earlier has sent us an email about this. Our specialists are looking into the matter and we cannot say anything at this juncture.”
Subramaniam says that it is difficult to identify the Pragyan rover on the moon because it is present on the south pole of the moon. Light is less in that area. This is the reason why he could not be seen during NASA’s flyby on November 11. He says that it seems that the commands reached the lander for a few days. There is also a possibility that the lander would be receiving the command. The Lander must have been sending it to the Pragyan Rover as well. But it will not be able to send it back to Earth.
