The central government has now come under attack by opposition parties. The Congress targeted the Narendra Modi-led government and objected to the nomination of Bhopal BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur to the Parliamentary Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Defense. The Congress alleged that it is ironic that such a leader has been chosen from the middle for clean leaders.

Congress secretary Pranab Jha told  'It is ironic that such a person has been named by the government in the defense panel. Prior to the Lok Sabha elections, Pragya Thakur has disputed his statements on several occasions. There was a big controversy when he called Nathuram Godse who killed Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. The BJP had issued a show cause notice to Pragya for the remarks. Pragya Thakur also sparked controversy by saying that Mumbai ATS chief Hemant Karkare was killed during the 26/11 terror attack because of the curse.
