Punjab Polls: Congress Screening Committee Meeting to select Candidates for Assembly Elections Today

A meeting of the Congress Screening Committee will be held from 5 pm on Thursday to select the candidates for the Punjab Assembly elections. The meeting, which began on Thursday evening, will continue on Friday and Saturday. However, the meeting of the Congress Screening Committee will start from 5 pm on Thursday and will continue till 8.30 pm at the Punjab Congress Bhawan in Chandigarh. After this, this meeting will start from 11 am on Friday and will continue till 6 pm.
Punjab Congress Committee President Navjot Singh Sidhu has invited party leaders to attend the screening committee meeting through the micro-blogging site Twitter. In his tweet, he has written, 'The meeting of the Screening Committee will be held at Punjab Congress Bhawan, Chandigarh.'
Further, referring to the date and time of the meeting, he has written that there will be a meeting of the Screening Committee on Thursday from 5 pm to 8.30 pm. After this, this meeting will run from 11 am to 6 pm on Friday and Saturday.
Political excitement has intensified in Punjab
Let us inform you that the political excitement has intensified in Punjab regarding the elections to be held next year. Along with this, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released two lists of its candidates in Punjab. Apart from this, other parties are also releasing the list of their respective candidates.
However, the list of the names of the candidates has not been released by Congress yet. Right now, only a meeting of the screening committee is being organized by Congress for the selection of the names of the candidates.
Along with this, members of the Election Commission of India have reached Chandigarh to take stock of the preparations for the Punjab Assembly elections. They will visit here for two days. On the first day of the Punjab tour, Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Kumar and Election Commissioners Rajiv Kumar and Anoop Chandra Pandey held meetings with representatives of different political parties and officers of police and paramilitary forces.
