Congress state president Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is facing double challenges in Punjab, spoke to the media about this on Sunday. He has said that things will change after January 15 and only then it will be decided how the Congress party will campaign.

When Punjab Congress state president Navjot Singh Sidhu was asked how the Congress party would campaign, he said that it is expected that things will change after January 15, 2022. Till then it is clear that there will be only digital promotions. He further said that if things get worse, then we have to be ready for the litmus test.

The Election Commission on Saturday announced the dates for elections in five states (Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa). Voting will be held in Punjab on 14 February 2022. The counting of votes will take place on 10 March 2022. Announcing the election dates, Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra on Saturday made it clear that no party will be able to campaign till January 15, 2022.

Parties will be able to do digital campaigns only

There is a strict instruction of the Election Commission that till January 15, only parties will be able to do digital campaigns. Parties will be able to campaign on social media and other digital platforms, but will not be able to take out public meetings, street meetings, cycle rallies, bike rallies or pada yatras. For the first time in Indian electoral history, such an unprecedented situation has arisen, when the Election Commission has imposed 'Campaign Curfew' during the election due to corona infection.

Congress is facing double challenges in Punjab

All the political parties are busy preparing for the election campaign afresh this time. In Punjab, Congress is facing a dual challenge like infighting with Captain Amarinder Singh. Captain Amarinder Singh has announced to contest the elections in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP has also parted ways with its traditional ally Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal). Therefore, this time a new equation will be seen in Punjab, it is being expected that.
