Punjab Drugs Case: Majithia Appears before SIT in Mohali, Demands Free and Fair Investigation

In Mohali on Wednesday i.e. today Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia appeared before the Special Investigation Team(SIT) in the State Crime Branch office in the drugs case. During this, his lawyer DS Sobti said that "we want a free and fair investigation so that the truth comes out." It is headed by AIG Balraj Singh.

Let us inform you that, Majithia has got conditional bail from the High Court in the drugs case earlier. Punjab Haryana High Court had said that whenever required Majithia will have to appear before the investigating agency. Majithia cannot leave the country till the next date of hearing. During this it was also said that Majithia would give his personal mobile number to the investigating agency.

What is the whole matter?

Actually this case of Bikram Singh Majithia which is related to drugs case is about 9 years old. In 2013, NRI Anoop Singh was arrested by the Punjab Police, it was only after his arrest that the drugs case worth about Rs 6,000 crore was exposed. After the statement of Anoop Singh, the police officer Jagdish Bhola, who was dismissed from the Punjab Police, was arrested. After which the matter of Bikram Singh Majithia's involvement in this matter came to the fore. However, Majithia was also summoned by the ED in 2015.

Many serious allegations made against Majithia

Let us tell you that in this case, many serious allegations have also been made against Majithia. It states that Canadian drug smuggler Satpreet Satta is close to Majithia. Satta also stayed in Majithia's government bungalow in Amritsar and Chandigarh. Apart from this, Majithia used to take funds from drug smugglers for elections. However, Shiromani Akali Dal has called all these allegations baseless and called for political revenge.
