With preparations underway for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections 2023, the party is now fully engaged. Rahul Gandhi has expressed his belief that the Congress will secure 150 seats in Madhya Pradesh.

The consensus among all the leaders is that Kamal Nath is their chosen leader. It is anticipated that the Congress will officially announce Kamal Nath as the Chief Ministerial candidate prior to the elections.

Rahul Gandhi aims for Karnataka-like success in MP

Under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge, the national president of the Congress party, a meeting was convened at the party's headquarters on Monday i.e. May 29 to discuss the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly elections.

Following this meeting, Rahul Gandhi, a prominent Congress leader, offered his initial response. He stated that an extensive discussion took place and the party intends to replicate its success in Karnataka.

Rahul Gandhi highlighted the party's achievement of securing 136 seats in Karnataka and expressed confidence in repeating a similar performance in Madhya Pradesh.

After thorough deliberation, our internal assessment indicates that we anticipate winning 150 seats in Madhya Pradesh.

During the meeting held in Delhi, Rahul Gandhi, along with Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, former Chief Minister of the state Kamal Nath, and other prominent leaders, engaged in a lengthy discussion.

The meeting also witnessed the presence of General Secretary KC Venugopal, Digvijaya Singh, and various other influential leaders.

Elections in MP are scheduled to take place at the end of the year

Following the meeting at the Congress headquarters with the party president and other leaders, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath, shared his insights.

He remarked, "We discussed formulating an election strategy and ensuring the prosperity of Madhya Pradesh's future."

In response to Rahul Gandhi's statement about Congress securing 150 seats in Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath expressed agreement, stating that they all share the same belief.

The assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh are scheduled to take place at the end of the year.

In this meeting, the promissory note for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections was also placed before the high command.

The agenda encompassed significant issues such as the Nari Samman Yojana (Women's Dignity Scheme), the provision of LPG cylinders at Rs 500, reinstatement of the old pension scheme, and reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC).

The promissory note outlined several appealing commitments made by the Congress party to the electorate.
