Two women from the city of Bardoli in Gujarat have made a new record by running backwards for 13 consecutive hours on Thursday. In the course of events taking place on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, these two women ran in a reverse direction from Bardoli to Dandi and completed a total distance of 53 km in 13 hours. After this special effort, these girls, who have applied for registration in the Guinness book, are named Twinkle Thakor and Swati Thakor and are residents of Bardoli, Gujarat. Both the women, impressed by India's Laxmi campaign started by PM, took this special effort to the end.
Swati and Twinkle say that they took this special record with PM Narendra Modi's message of women's empowerment. Both said that they gave a message to empower women from this particular race. Swati and Twinkle told that they started their race from Bardoli at around 5 pm on Tuesday evening and it was finished at Dandi at 9 am on Wednesday. She said that now she is sending her application to register her name in the Guinness Book of World Records, so that such efforts can be given further recognition.
Swati Thakor said that she started the race after PM Narendra Modi's message in which PM said that the country needs to honor the talents of our daughters and encourage it. Swati said that every woman in India has some kind of talent, but it just needs to be enhanced.
