Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan's son Abdullah Azam has been released from jail after 688 days. He was lodged in Sitapur jail for about 23 months, now Rampur Court has granted him bail in all 43 cases. After the release order from Rampur Court in 43 cases, the jail administration took legal action and released Abdullah. Abdullah Azam along with his father MP Azam Khan was lodged in Sitapur jail since February 27 2020 in several cases.

Azam's wife Tazeen Fatma was released from Sitapur jail in December 2020. He is also a co-accused in several cases. There are more than 70 cases registered against Azam Khan. He is yet to get bail. Abdullah had won from Suar constituency on an SP ticket in the 2017 assembly elections. However, hearing a case against him in 2019, the Allahabad High Court quashed his election as an MLA from Uttar Pradesh on the ground that he was underage and was not eligible to contest the 2017 elections.
