The team of Crime Branch has reached Delhi with Sharajeel Imam, a student of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), who was accused of making a seditious speech. Sharjeel was evacuated from the second gate due to media crowd at the airport. According to the information, it will be done after lunch and it will be presented in Patiala House Court. Police will seek Sharjeel's remand from the court for questioning.

JNU student Sharjeel Imam was arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police on Tuesday from Jehanabad, Bihar. Sharjeel had shortened his hair and beard to hide his identity. The police also seized the car from which he was preparing to flee. Late Tuesday, the police produced him before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) and took him on a 36-hour transit remand. After getting her medical, she was taken to Patna. She was kept in the women's police station for safety.

Deputy Commissioner of Police of Delhi Crime Branch Rajesh Dev said that five teams were formed to arrest Sharjeel. Raids in Patna, Jehanabad, Mumbai and other places were raided on Sunday and Monday. It was learned that he showed up in a rally against the CAA in Phulwarisharif area of ​​Patna. The police raided his village Kako, but he was not found. After this, his brother Muzammil and a colleague were detained and questioned and Sharjeel was nabbed from Malik Tola of Kako village.

He is appealing to dump so much debris on the railway track that it takes a month to remove. It is our responsibility to cut Assam.

A video of Sharjeel giving a speech in the ongoing agitation against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) at Aligarh Muslim University went viral. In this, he is seen talking of separating Assam from India. This video was on 16 January. Earlier too, he gave a provocative speech in Jamia area of ​​Delhi on 13 December. After this, a sedition case was filed against him on 25 January. Its investigation was handed over to the Interstate Cell of the Crime Branch. Aside from Delhi, sedition cases are also registered in Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh.
