Poisonous Gas Leaked in Visakhapatnam’s Factory, 7 Died including 1 Child

A tragic incident has come to light from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, here Chemical gas leaked at South Korea's company LG's polymer plant in RR Venkatapuram village. 7 people have died under the influence of poisonous gas, including one child. One person died after falling into a well while escaping. Thousands of people in the village and surrounding areas have complained of eye irritation and shortness of breath, after which people are being taken to the hospital. With this, the villages are being evacuated, whereas Police, fire brigade, ambulance reached the spot.

DGP of Andhra Pradesh DG Sawang said that 7 people have died so far. One person died after falling into a well, this event occurred at 3.30 am. The plant was closed due to lockdown. State Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is scheduled to leave for Visakhapatnam. Here they will go to the hospital where the gas victims are admitted.

According to local people, the effect of this poisonous gas leak is being seen within a radius of 3 km from the factory. The effect of poisonous gas was such that many people began to fall unconscious. Meanwhile, the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) told that in Vishakapatnam's RR Venkatapuram village 5 people including a child have died due to chemical gas leakage in the LG polymer industry in.

A total of 9 villages have been affected by gas. Of these, 5 have been completely evacuated, work is being done to evacuate the remaining 4 villages. A local official said that the situation would be taken under control in the next 2 to 3 hours. Many people were having trouble breathing and they have been supported by oxygen. Many people have also complained of eye irritation and scarring on the body.
