PM Modi inaugurated the project through video conferencing. He compared this solar plant to a sporty crop and said that when seen from above, it seems that a crop is standing in a field.

Sure, Pure and Secure

With this plant, we have reached the top-5 countries of the world. This is the most important step of the 21st century. Sure, pure and secure

sure because other sources may be gone, but the sun will always shine in the world.

Pure because it does not pollute the environment, it protects it. Secure is because motivation is a great symbol of self-reliance.

What else did PM Modi say?

The need for electricity is increasing, in such a situation, the self-sufficiency of electricity is very important, only then can India become self-sufficient.

Solar energy is going to play a very big role in this and our effort is to give credence to this strength in India. When it comes to self-reliance and progress, it definitely comes to the economy.

New research is also going to be done for electricity based transportation, which will improve the lives of the common man and protect the environment.

Environmental Protection is important

Now the protection of the environment is being given great importance. Now, this has become a way of living life. During the launching of large projects of renewable energy, it is being ensured that the environment is safe and every citizen benefits from it.

Giving an example, the PM said that in six years, about 36 crores LED bulbs have been distributed throughout the country.

More than 10 million bulbs are installed in street lights across the country. It's normal to hear, but it's a big deal. When it was not an LED bulb, it felt the need, but then the price was too high.

What has changed in 6 years, the price of LED bulbs has been reduced 10 times today.but then the price was too high. What has changed in 6 years, the price of LED bulbs has reduced 10 times today?

Delhi Metro has customers outside the state

Delhi Metro will be one of the customers of this project. The state will provide 24 per cent of its total electricity to the Delhi Metro, while the remaining 76 per cent will be supplied to state electricity distribution companies (discoms) in Madhya Pradesh.

The project consists of three solar energy units of 250–250 MW each on 500 hectares of land located inside a solar park.

The project will reduce carbon emissions equivalent to about 1.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.

This plan is very special

The project is the first solar project in the country to break the grid parity barrier. The Rewa project achieved a target of Rs 2.97 per unit in the first year with an increase of Rs 0.05 per unit for 15 years, compared to the rate of around Rs 4.50 per unit of the then existing solar project in early 2017. The historical target of Rs 3.30 per unit for a period of 25 years has also been achieved.

World Bank also appreciated

It has also received the World Bank Group President Award for Innovation and Excellence. It has also been included in the Prime Minister's book 'A Book of Innovation: New Beginnings'.

The solar park was developed by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL), a joint venture company of Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVN) and Central Public Sector Unit Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

RUMSL has been provided with the central financial assistance of Rs 138 crore for the development of this solar park.

After the park was developed, RUMSL selected Mahindra Renewables Private Limited, ACME Jaipur Solar Power Private Limited and Rincon Clean Energy Private Limited through reverse auction to construct three 250 MW units inside the park.
