PM Modi will Talk to the Members of the Women Self-Help Groups via VC

The Prime Minister will also release a fund of Rs. 1625 crore for 4 lakh self-help groups during this program.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the program 'Atmanirbhar Narishakti Se Samvad' through video conferencing today. This program will take place at 12:30 pm. In this, the Prime Minister will interact with the members of the Women Self-Help Groups. This will include women promoted under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). The stories of successful women from SHGs across the country will be released during the program. A handbook on agricultural livelihoods will also be released during this period.

4 lakh self-help groups will get Rs 1625 crore

The Prime Minister will also release a fund of Rs 1625 crore for 4 lakh self-help groups during this program. Apart from this, Rs 25 crore will be released for seeds to 7500 members of Self-Help Groups. This amount will be given under the PMFME (PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises) scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. A fund of Rs 4.13 crore will also be released to 75 FPOs (Farmer Producer Organizations) running under the scheme.

6 union ministers will be present during the program

Union ministers Giriraj Singh, Pashupati Kumar Paras, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Faggan Singh Kulaste, Kapil Moreshwar Patil, and Prahlad Singh Patel will also be present in the program.

What is Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission?

DAY-NRLM covers poor families living in villages in Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in a phase-wise manner. This mission gives them long-term support to improve their income and standard of living. Trained women of SHGs handle many tasks of the mission. These trained women are called Krishi Sakhi, Pashu Sakhi, Bank Sakhi, Bima Sakhi. Under the mission, women belonging to SHGs are made aware of domestic violence, women's education, health, nutrition, and sanitation.
