The cabinet meeting is going to be held today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Many important decisions can be taken in the meeting. According to information received from the sources, a decision can also be taken in the meeting to give a relief package for the telecom and textile sectors. Apart from this, a decision to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rabi crops is also possible in the meeting.

This comes as the farmers have been protesting on the different borders of the national capital since November 26 last year against the three newly enacted farm laws: Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; the Farmers Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and farm Services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.

Possible consideration of relief package for telecom sector

A relief package for the telecom sector can be considered in the meeting. In this, the outstanding AGR can be redefined. According to sources, a proposal for a relief package for the telecom sector has also been sent to the Finance Ministry.
