People Coming in Goa are not Required to be Quarantined: CM Pramod Sawant

The entire country is struggling with the Corona crisis, but Goa is the state in the country where Corona cases are minimum

The Goa government has changed its Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for people entering the state. People entering the state through rail, road and air services will no longer have to stay quarantined for 14 days, whereas Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Wednesday that people should either bring a negative certificate of Corona or undergo a test.

Opposition parties in Goa had objected to the home quarantine citing surveillance, besides this as of Tuesday, there were 67 total Corona cases in Goa, out of which 39 are active cases. Pramod Sawant said that Goa is still in the green zone, because the infection is being controlled at the state border. CM said that the cabinet felt that a separate SOP is not required for those coming from Maharashtra, however, in Goa, 90 percent of the cases were from neighboring states.

Let us tell you that from the beginning of the third lockdown, there were lots of relaxations in Goa, because Goa is in the Green Zone. It should be noted that the entire country is struggling with the Corona crisis, but Goa is the state in the country where Corona cases are minimum.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had said that Goa is a tourist destination in the case of regaining control over the Corona case in the state of Goa adjacent to Maharashtra, whereas stringent decisions were taken to prevent the spread of Corona and strict action was taken to maintain physical distancing.
