The Statue of Mohammad Ali Jinnah was destroyed by  Baloch insurgents in Pakistan's Gwadar city on Sunday with a bomb attack. The outlawed Baloch Liberation Front has claimed responsibility for this. The newspaper of Pakistan, Dawn reported that the statue installed in June on Marine Drive, considered a safe zone, was blown up with explosives by Baloch insurgents on Sunday morning. According to the sources, the idol of Jinnah was completely destroyed in this explosion.

Investigation of the matter

According to the report of BBC Urdu report, Babgar Baloch, a spokesman for the banned militant outfit Baloch Republican Army, has stated responsibility for the blast on Twitter. BBC Urdu quoted that the matter is being investigated at the highest level.

All the rebels came as tourists

Former Major Abdul Kabir Khan said all rebels entered the area as tourists. The statue of Jinnah was destroyed by planting explosives. According to him, no arrests have been made yet but the investigation will be completed in a day or two. He said the matter is being looked at from all angles and the perpetrators would be arrested soon.

Attack on the ideology of Pakistan: Sarfaraz Bugti

On the other hand, former Home Minister of Balochistan and current Senator Sarfaraz Bugti tweeted that the demolition of Quaid-e-Azam's statue of Jinnah in Gwadar is an attack on the ideology of Pakistan. I request the authorities to punish the culprits in the same way as we did for the attack on the Quaid-e-Azam residence in Ziarat.

Jinnah's building was also blown up in the year 2013

In early 2013, Baloch rebels blew up the 121-year-old Jinnah building in Ziarat. As a result of the explosion, a huge fire broke out in the building, which lasted for about four hours. Let us tell you that because of suffering from tuberculosis, Jinnah spent the last days of her life there. It was later called a national memorial.
