Pakistan: Pilgrims Coming to Kartarpur have to Pay 20 US Dollars Facility Fee

Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammad Faisal has said that the government of Pakistan will charge the facility fee from every person coming to Kartarpur Corridor. This amount will be equal to 20 US Dollars. Pakistan had made this demand before India during the first phase of the third phase.

Pakistan has made it clear that it will be service fee and not entry fee. It is believed that this facility is being charged for water, medicines and other facilities. Pakistan had recently agreed to make necessary arrangements for the offerings and langar distributed among the devotees. Both countries agree to provide safe and harmonious atmosphere to the passengers.

Despite the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, the two countries are working together on the Kartarpur corridor. Soon the Kartarpur corridor will be opened for devotees.

Earlier, there was a third round of talks between the officials of India and Pakistan on the Kartarpur corridor. Many important agreements were negotiated in this dialogue. Sikh devotees of India will now be able to visit Kartarpur Sahib for a whole year without a visa.

Through this corridor, people of Indian origin who have an OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India) card will also be able to visit Kartarpur Sahib. There were talks between the representatives of the two countries on the Attari border.

India has once again urged Pakistan to allow the protocol officer of India to accompany the Sikh passengers, so that the passengers do not face any kind of problem. Pakistan has also expressed reservations about the presence of Indian officials in the Gurdwara campus.
