Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram has praised the central government's work on Ganga-cleaning, highway construction and base on Saturday. He said that through a determined effort, cleanliness of river Ganga has been done and he 'feels proud' about it. Every government takes some initiatives that are good and beneficial.

Praising the Modi government, Chidambaram said that his National Highway Construction Program has been successful. He is making more kilometers of roads every day that our government (the then UPA government). I think the next government will do more than that. The initiative like base at the time of the UPA government was further strengthened.

Let the central government create a separate ministry for cleaning the Ganga.
