At least 30 people have died after two trains collided in southern Pakistan on Monday, according to local media. Meanwhile, 50 injured were rushed to the hospital. According to railway officials, Sir Syed Express collided with the Millat Express between Raiti and Oberlo railway stations near Ghotki town. At the same time, Rescue and relief work is underway while several officials have reached the spot.

According to the reports, the accident occurred at 3:45 am. Even after four hours of the accident, the officials were also facing difficulty in rescuing the people trapped inside the overturned bogies. It is being told that the injured are being transported by tractor-trolley. According to the report, the medical team will reach there around 9.30 pm.

Over 13 bogies derailed in the accident:

Speaking to the media, the deputy commissioner informed that 13 to 14 bogies have derailed in the accident while 6-8 completely destroyed. He said that rescuing trapped passengers is a challenge for the rescue officials. While a relief train has departed from Rohri. He further said, "This is a challenging task. It will take time to use heavy machinery to free citizens (still trapped). We are also establishing a medical camp to provide medical aid to citizens."

Emergency declared in nearby hospitals:

Ghotki Deputy Commissioner Osman Abdullah said the arrangements made to take the injured to the hospital after the accident. Emergency declared in Ghotki, Daharki, Obero and Mirpur Mathelo hospitals and doctors and paramedical staff called on duty. Authorities fear that the number of deaths in the accident could rise.
