50-year-old Otis Gibson has signed a two-year deal with the Bangladesh Cricket Board. Otis Gibson will remain the bowling coach of Bangladesh's senior team from 2020 to 2022.
Otis Gibson Appointed as Bangladesh’s New Bowling Coach

On Tuesday, Former West Indies fast bowler Otis Gibson has been appointed as the bowling coach by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for its senior cricket team. 50-year-old Otis Gibson has signed a two-year deal with the Bangladesh Cricket Board. Otis Gibson will remain the bowling coach of Bangladesh's senior team from 2020 to 2022. Otis Gibson replaces South Africa's Charl Langeveldt. Charl resigned as the bowling coach of the team in December 2019 and joined the team of his country.

Charl Langeveldt has now been appointed bowling coach of the South African team. Otis Gibson, who played 2 Tests and 15 ODIs for the West Indies team, has experience of playing first-class and list one cricket for 17 years. Gibson has taken more than 1000 wickets in his professional career.

Otis Gibson, who announced his retirement as a player in 2007, continues to hold coaching positions. During this time he has played the role of head coach of the West Indies and South Africa, while he has been the bowling coach of England. At the same time, for the first time with Bangladesh, he is going to start a new inning in the role of bowling coach. Even Otis Gibson was the head coach of the Cumilla Warriors in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2020.

BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chaudhary has said that Gibson's inclusion in the team will strengthen the coaching staff. Chaudhary has said, "He has a lot of experience as a player and coach around the world. He has closely tested the players of the Bangladesh team. I am confident that he will work well with the coaching team of Bangladesh."
