Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, who left for Lakhimpur to meet the farmers, was taken into custody. So the SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, who left for Lakhimpur, has been stopped by the police outside the house. After which Akhilesh Yadav has sat on the dharna there. Along with this, the UP government has issued an order not to allow Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Punjab Chief Minister Channi to land in Lucknow.

On Priyanka Gandhi's detention, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted, "Priyanka, I know you will not back down – they are scared of your courage. In this non-violent fight for justice, we will make the country's Annadata win.

BJP MP Varun Gandhi said about this matter that the incident in which our Annadata was murdered is unforgivable in any civilized society. He said- "I pay homage to the farmers who were martyred in the heart-wrenching incident of Lakhimpur Kheri. I request the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh to take strict action in this matter.

Before the arrest, there was also an argument between Priyanka Gandhi and the policemen. They are suppressing their voice in the arrogance of power. Being prevented from meeting the family of farmers. The voice of justice is never suppressed.

Priyanka Gandhi has been arrested from Hargaon

According to the information received, Priyanka Gandhi has been arrested from Hargaon and taken to the Sitapur police line. Even before Hargaon, police were deployed to stop Priyanka Gandhi, but her convoy had managed to leave from other places. Priyanka Gandhi alleged that she was pushed by police officers, as well as twitching her hand. Congress has alleged that the workers have also been lathi-charged by the police.

Apart from Congress leaders, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait along with many supporters left for Lakhimpur in the early hours of Monday. Several opposition leaders including Samajwadi Party and Trinamool Congress are scheduled to visit Lakhimpur today. However, this is the reason why the government has put a strict police guard outside the house of SP chief and former Chief Minister of the state Akhilesh Yadav. Along with this, Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad has also been arrested by the police in Sitapur.

Expressing grief over the Lakhimpur incident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that such an incident is unfortunate. The government will find out the reasons for this and expose the elements involved and take strict action against the culprits.

Judge of the Supreme Court has demanded an inquiry into the incident

On the other hand, the United Kisan Morcha (SKM) has called for demonstrations outside the offices of District Magistrates and Commissioners across the country on Monday against the incident. Along with this, instead of the Uttar Pradesh administration, a serving judge of the Supreme Court has demanded an inquiry into the incident.

Violence broke out after two SUV vehicles were allegedly rammed on anti-agriculture law protesters protesting the visit of Deputy Chief Minister Maurya on the Tikonia-Banbirpur road in Kheri. Eight people, including both farmers and Bharatiya Janata Party workers, were killed in violence at the farmers' agitation site on Sunday ahead of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya's visit to Lakhimpur Kheri, according to officials.
