A person has been arrested in connection with the murder of the Pregnant Elephant, forest Minister K Raju said that many people were involved in the murder and all the people will be arrested, the police and the forest department are doing investigation. Actually, a pregnant elephant reached a village in Mallapuram district of Kerala and then was given crackers inside food. To calm the irritation due to the burning of gunpowder, she went to the Veliar River, for three days, she kept standing storing water in her mouth, but the poison of gunpowder was so impactful that neither mother nor the baby survived.

The country mourned with regret and anguish at the killing of a silent animal. BJP MP Maneka Gandhi, who works for animals, asked why elephants are in private hands, the question on elephants' death used to arise and disappear like a bubble in the river, but this death kept that question alive. According to a report, the domesticated elephants are 507 now, out of which 410 are males and 97 are females. It should be noted that in 2017, 17 elephants died, while in the year 2018, 34 and 14 elephants died in 2019.
