The COVID pandemic ultimately has proved that material progress can neither ensure peace nor immunity from the diseases. In the race for self-recognition, affluence and stiff competition the human race forgot that the power to fight all the diseases and achieve the objective of one's life is within himself. To populate this ancient knowledge of our roots, Sahaja Yoga National Trust, India is on the occasion of International Yoga Day on 21st June 2020, covering 30 sessions by 20 global speakers in 15 global and regional languages from Sunrise to Sunrise as speakers from Japan to Brazil shall explain the importance of Kundalini Awakening and Self-realization and provide experience of the same free of cost during the massive 24 hour continuous back to back session webcast on the Sahaja Yoga website www.sahajayoga.org.in/yogaday.

With the recent COVID outbreak, that shook the globe, the mankind now realises that, until they know the truth and purpose of life, they cannot find peace and immunity power that lies within every human being in the form of the latent Kundalini power. Until man is connected with this truth the achievements of life are like plastic flowers without fragrance.

The quest to find the truth and objective of life that mankind has, was proven true, when over 5.5 lakh unique viewers from over 82 countries joined SahajaYoga meditation with 7.7M views for 3.2M watch hours on youtube channel PratisthanPune for the meditation programs conducted during the lockdown free of cost by SahajaYoga national trust for common people to help them to increase immunity via meditation. To support this movement a free meditation helpline number 1800 30 700 800 was launched which received over 1000 calls per day during the lockdown period.

The year 2020 also marks the Golden Jubilee of welcoming the final spiritual breakthrough of enlightenment to millions of seekers by opening the last subtle energy centre, called Sahasrara, by the holy grace of H. H. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi on 5th May 1970.  In her own words She says: "But you cannot become yourself unless and until this Sahasrara, this brain is opened out and the Kundalini becomes one with the Paramchaitanya. Before that, you are in complete ignorance about what is good and what is bad. Whatever you think [that], for this brain, is good, you do it. But whatever is really good, you do not know, because you do not know the Reality."

To understand life, let's first understand that when a foetus is between two and three months old, in the mother's womb, a column of rays of consciousness emitted through the all-pervading power passes through the developing brain to enlighten it. The set of rays that falls on the fontanelle bone (apex of the head known as 'taloo' in Hindi) pierces in the centre and passes straight into the medulla oblongata through a channel called Sushumna. This energy, after leaving a very thread-like thin line in the medulla oblongata settles down in three and a half coils in the triangular bone at the base of the spinal cord in Sacrum called Mooladhara. This coiled energy is known as Kundalini. The subtle energy enters through the centre of the brain (Sahasrara or Brahmarandhra) and develops six more energy centres on its way down. The gross manifestation of this subtle energy in the Sushumna channel of the spinal cord is termed the Parasympathetic Nervous System. The centres of these subtle energies termed as Chakras are expressed as plexuses outside the spinal cord in gross form. Surprisingly, we have the same number of plexuses and sub-plexuses outside, as the number of Chakras and their petals inside, the spinal cord. It is this primordial energy lying within every human being that is responsible for the physical, mental, emotional, social and financial wellbeing of the mankind.

To help the seekers of truth achieve their Self-realization with Kundalini Awakening daily Sahaja Yoga Meditation sessions for new seekers as well as for the established practitioners are conducted. Especially on 21st June 2020 on the occasion of  International Yoga Day, says Mr. Dinesh Rai, vice chairman of the H. H. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi Sahaj Yoga Trust (National Trust) India  that it is planned to conduct over 30 sessions across the globe for all the seekers of truth in their preferred global or regional language and timeline throughout the day from Sunrise to Sunrise. Sahaja Yoga National Trust invite all seekers of truth in India and across the continents to attend these Sahaja Yoga sessions to experience their self-realization free of cost.

The Journey Within

In the ever-growing hustle and bustle of modern life there seems to be an unabated quest for the human beings to live and enjoy life in an atmosphere of peace. Material progress though cannot ensure peace which man is looking for.  There is another side too. Human beings often find it difficult to accept simple living rather prefer run behind scoring brownie points for establishing their own self-recognition, affluence and stiff competitions in their profession. The core point is that until now the guiding force to bring man face to face with truth, meaning and purpose of life has been misconstrued. It is time that man realises until he knows the truth of life he cannot find peace that actually lies within, is exuberant and everlasting. Until man is connected with this truth the life will be like flowers without fragrance.

To understand life, let us first consider the case of a living organism. May be a germinating seed. The seed grows by itself into a tree, blooms into flowers, and then the flowers become fruit. Any human effort cannot change the process of growth from a seed into a tree. In the same way, the process of the growth of our consciousness to understand the evolution takes place effortlessly. Like a scientist, let us assume a hypothesis first and then, if proved, accept the reality with all sincerity. Every soul has a right to do so.

So, let's begin this way, when a foetus is between two and three months old, in the mother's womb, a column of rays of consciousness emitted through the all-pervading power passes through the developing brain to enlighten it. The shape of the human brain is prism-like. So, the column of rays falling on it gets refracted into four diverse channels corresponding to the four aspects of the nervous system. These are:

  1.  Parasympathetic nervous system
  2.  Sympathetic nervous system (right)
  3.  Sympathetic nervous system (left)
  4.  Central nervous system

The set of rays that falls on the fontanelle bone (apex of the head known as 'taloo' in Hindi) pierces in the centre and passes straight into the medulla oblongata through a channel called Sushumna. This energy, after leaving a very thread-like thin line in the medulla oblongata settles down in three and a half coils in the triangular bone at the base of the spinal cord, Mooladhara.

Therefore, we may now see that certain things are inborn with us from the very beginning. So, we have two energies to express. One is the energy due to the gross self that is visible in the form of action through various body parts and organs while another is the subtle energy driving these gross systems through plexuses. Very little was known to common men until recent as the esoteric knowledge of these domains were not fully elucidated with understanding and practice. Since ancient times it had remained a secret knowledge and confined with the realized souls, seers or gnostics.  However, in 1970, the world witnessed a newer realm of spiritual transformation with the advent of unique form of meditation to usher in a union with the supreme power through "Sahaja Yoga", propounded by Her Holiness Shri Mataji Nirmal Devi. It had been a unique discovery – where she devised the simplest way of meditation to enable union with the power that created us. In her words "The word 'Sahaja' (Saha + ja) means born with you or inborn. Whatever is inborn manifests without any effort. Hence Sahaja Yoga is the name given to my system, which is effortless, easy, and spontaneous. It is a part of nature; one may call it life's source or the vitality of the divine."

Though most of the energy centres had somehow been established and realized souls, seers of ancient times tried to access the secret code to get the union with the supreme power. But one of the most vital energy centre that lies on the head/crown at the fontanelle bone area called as Sahasrara was quite elusive in nature to discern even by these great seers.

H.H. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, reverently called Shri Mataji all over the world, hailed from a family of freedom fighters in India and was spiritually influenced from her very childhood.  She, as a child had spent quite a few years in the ashram of Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhiji had a great appreciation at the spiritual authority in Shri Mataji at that stage of her life.   Later to understand the nature of human system she pursued her career in medical sciences.

However, Shri Mataji always felt and waited for the right time for the humanity to learn the truth about what had been kept secret and far away from consciousness of commoners until then. To establish Her own enlightenment was no big a deal like other seers and realized souls, but to bring forth a unique method to attain higher awareness in collective consciousness of humans was a challenge. One day the reality came to the fore.

Fifty years ago, on the 5th of May 1970, Shri Mataji decoded the spiritual enlightenment that paved way for bringing forth en masse self-realization process in human beings. This was for the first time in the spiritual history of the world that such en masse realization could be initiated. It did not end up there. In analogy it was like the power that one candle could enlighten thousand candles, similarly a self-realized person who received his/her self-realization could initiate further self-realization to hundreds and thousands of other seekers to experience.

The first condition though put up by Shri Mataji was that it should be completely free of cost for all to access and, secondly, should be readily made available to any seeker who desired to know the meaning of union of self with the universal consciousness, that is, infinite divinity.  So, she was able to break open the last energy centre and brought forth a new dimension in the domain of spirituality by connecting with the power that created us.

The year 2020 marks the Golden Jubilee of welcoming the final spiritual breakthrough of ushering enlightenment to millions by opening the last subtle energy centre, called Sahasrara, by the holy grace of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi. In her own words she says:

"In the human beings it is a very important centre, because this is the only centre by which we think and we try to stop whatever we don't like. This is the centre which reacts, reacts in such a manner that, without any discretion we start saying, 'no' to this, and, 'no' to that, on small things also. Like somebody might say, "I don't like this carpet," "I don't like this house," "I don't like that." This language itself shows that — who are you? First find out!

But you cannot become yourself unless and until this Sahasrara, this brain is opened out and the Kundalini becomes one with the Paramchaitanya. Before that, you are in complete ignorance about what is good and what is bad. Whatever you think [that], for this brain, is good, you do it. But whatever is really good, you do not know, because you do not know the Reality.

Now we have to understand the consciousness that we have: consciousness of being alive, consciousness of so many things we have, and the so-called knowledge we have about everything. But then, this consciousness starts rising, higher and higher. Then you become aware. In the evolutionary process, you become aware, aware of things. Without going through your brain, you just become aware. And how? Not by thinking, not by understanding or seeing, but you become aware because your brain has now started working in a manner that's very, very sensitive."
