The Odd-Even scheme has been implemented in Delhi from today. Today only even cars are allowed on road, but in spite of this some people left with odd numbered cars on road. Then this started the process of cutting challan, from the morning itself.

The challan for Mercedes car with the odd number was cut, on Mathura Road. MH is written on the number plate of the vehicle, but other cars coming from other states are also not included in the exemption. Traffic Police is vigilantly monitoring all major routes including India Gate, ITO, Delhi Gate. Even after giving information about the scheme through radio, TV and social media, a large number of people who came out of the car carrying an odd number were seen getting challans.

'I live in Noida, came to Delhi from work at night'

People carrying an Odd car were also seen making various excuses to avoid being fined. However, the police did not listen to any of them. A similar vehicle was challaned by the traffic police on ITO. People replied like, 'I live in Noida, I came to Delhi at night for some work. I was not aware that the Odd-Even scheme is starting in Delhi today.'

Odd-Even for the third time, the rules are more stringent than before

In Delhi, pollution-hit Odd-Even has started from today. Odd-Even being implemented in Delhi for the third time, this time some changes have been made as compared to the last time. This includes exempting CNG vehicles, double fine etc. This time there is a fine of 4 thousand rupees. The continuing ban on trains will be applicable from 8 am to 8 pm. There will be no odd-even on Sunday.

Scheme relief to patients, PCR etc.

PCR and other vehicles of Delhi Police, Enforcement wing vehicles of Transport Department, Ambulances, Fire tenders, Prison vehicles, Embassy vehicles, Paramilitary forces and Army vehicles, Escort vehicles of personnel posted under the protection of VIPs, Disabled's and patients. Vehicles carrying them will be exempt.
